Six years of learning, growing, and showing up for families.
The Story Behind the Date
Esanju Integrative Wellness was founded in 2020 – a year that tested every family in South Africa.
While the world was locked down, special needs families faced an impossible situation. Schools closed. Therapies stopped. Respite care disappeared. Parents were trapped at home with no breaks, no support, and no end in sight.
Our founder watched this unfold – not as a business opportunity, but as a mother living it.
"2020 broke me. Then it built me. I realised: if I am struggling this much, so is every other special needs parent. Someone had to create something better."
And so Esanju was born.

Compassion is not taught. It is chosen. And our team chooses it every day.
At Esanju Integrative Wellness, we believe that the quality of care is only as good as the people delivering it. You can have the best systems, the best policies, and the best facility – but without the right hearts, none of it matters.
Our team is different. Here is why.
We Hire for Heart First
Every person who joins Esanju – whether a virtual therapist or an in-home respite caregiver – is chosen not just for their skills, but for their character.
We ask every candidate three questions:
"Why do you want to work with special needs families?"
"Tell us about a time you showed patience when it was difficult."
"What does compassion mean to you?"
We have turned away highly qualified people whose answers did not align with our values. And we have hired people with less experience but enormous hearts – and trained them into excellence.
"Skills can be taught. Kindness cannot."
